What is the cause behind the colour change of Taj Mahal from white to yellowish?

this is because of pollution and acid rains  . they reacted with marbes and make them yellowish.

ACID RAIN IS THE CUSE OF IT BECAZ WHEN FOSSIL FUELS ARE BURNT THE GASES SUCH AS SULPHUR  DIOXIDE AND NITROGEN DIOXIDE  IS RELEASED IN ATMOSPHERE AND WHEN COMBINE WITH WATERVAPOURS IT FORMS SULPHERIC ACID AND NITRIC ACID .
THESE ACIDS COME WITH RAIN WHICH IS EFFECTING THE TAJ MAHAL

Acid rain is the only cause for such a  disaster
several industries near the monument release harmful gasses which combine with water
1 sulphuric Acid
2 Nitric Acid
are the two main acids which fell on the monument to destroy it
now,
mathura oil refinery and many other industries have been close and within a few kilometeres near the monument no petrol, diesel cars are allowed
only CNG cars are allowed!!

two main reasons are acid rain and pollution
there are many industries near taj mahal which emit a lot of poluttants and acidic oxides especially the mathura oil refinery. they release polutants such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. these gases reacxt with water vapour to form nitric and sulphuric acid. the acid drop down with rain making the rain acidic. acid rain corrodes the marble of the monument. the phenomenon is also called "marble cancer". suspended particulate matter such as the soot particles emitted by mathura oil refinery has contributed towards the yellowing of the marble

thumbs up plz

Because of the increasing pollution in Agra and this lead to acid rain this is the only cause for the change of colour in Taj Mahal
