What is the difference between cast and petrified fossils
Dear student.
Cast: Cast is a type of fossil where external form of organism is preserved. It is the solid copy of the organism.
Petrified Fossils – Fossil where an organism turns into statue-like structure is known as petrified fossil. Dissolved minerals submerge into the cells of the organism, as a result of which water from the cell evaporates. Slowly minerals harden into stone which preserves the organism.
