1) Janapadas were major kingdoms of India during vedic times. These janapadas then evolved into 16 mahajanapadas. Mahanjanapadas were great kingdoms which flourished in the belt of Gandhara in the north west and Anga in the east.
 


2) The word Sangha means an organization or association. In Buddhist tradition, it refers to an order of monks, who live in monasteries. It is one of the Three major refuges for Buddhists, along with Buddha and Dhamma. It was originally established by Gautama Buddha in order to provide a conducive environment to those willing to lead a monastic life and attain Nirvana. The monks who live in a Sangha practice the monastic order and follow the Buddhist path of Dhamma. The traditions practiced in a Sangha vary according to local customs.
