Differences.
- Mitosis occurs in the somatic cells-normal cells of the body and the meiosis occurs in the reproductive cells of the body.
- Mitosis results in cells containing the same number of sets of chromosomes as in the parent cell, while meiosis results in cells containing half the number of sets of chromosomes as the parent cell.
- Mitosis is how the cells of our body make more cells for growth, development and repair. Meiosis is how our body makes s ex cells, or gametes (eggs or sperm)

- mitosis izz the equational cell division i.e. it results in 2 daughter cells having the same amount n number of chromosomes n same genetic info as tht of their parent cell...
meiosis izz the un-equational kinda cell division i.e. it results in 4 new daughter cells tht have exactly half the number of chromosomes than tht of their parent cell...
- mitosis takes place in somatic cells during growth n development...
meiosis takes place in gametes during gametogenesis i.e. creation of gametes... it divides the diploid cells in2 haploid cells so tht the diploid condition izz restored during fertilization...
