what is the difference between p=rho*g*h and p=Pa+rho*g*h

when to apply these two formulae ? plz help im very confused in apllication of these formulae

Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:

P = ρgh    is used when we are taking about the effect of only the pressure exerted buy the water and there is no mention of the effects of the pressure due to the atmosphere.

P =Pa + ρgh  is used when we are to consider the pressure due to the atmosphere as well as due to the fluid in which the body is immersed. Pa is atmospheric pressure.

Hope this information will clear your doubts about (Mechanical properties of fluids).
