what is the difference between retting and stripping ???

Retting is the process by which plant parts mainly the hard cell walls are decomposed by the action of microorganisms in presence of water. Jute fibers are obtained from jute plants by the process of retting. 

Stripping is the process of removing the outer covering of any substance.
