What is the difference between Universe and Sample?      (4 marks)

Dear Student
Universe is the whole population or total of all items about which we wants to gather information whereas sample is the part of that universe.
When we study universe than it means we are studying whole thing in itself whereas when we study sample we are studying a part of that universe that has the characteristics of universe.
For example - If there are 200 students in a school where some survey is held than these 200 is considered as universe whereas if we randomly select only 20 students  for conducting the same study than they considered as sample.

Universe
The?Universe?is everything we can touch, feel, sense, measure or detect. It includes living things, planets, stars, galaxies, dust clouds, light, and even time. ... The?Universe?contains billions of galaxies, each containing millions or billions of stars. The space between the stars and galaxies is largely empty.

Sample
A sample refers to a smaller, manageable version of a larger group. It is a subset containing the characteristics of a larger?population. Samples are used in statistical testing when population sizes are too large for the test to include all possible members or observations. A sample should represent the population as a whole and not reflect any bias toward a specific attribute.
