what is the difference between wave surface and wave front?

A wave front is defined as a surface of constant phase of waves. For example, if a stone is dropped in a calm pool of water, waves spread out in circular rings from the point of impact. All points on such a circle are oscillating in phase. Such a circle is known as a wave front

there is no term in physics like wave surface.....

its k:)

As my knoledge

surface wave is there .....

but

i don't think so...

there is a scientific term like wave surface...

the locus of all ponts in the same phase of wave is called the wave surface while the tangent to the wave surface at the point reached by any ray is xalled the wave-front.
