What is the differnce in the state of mind when we a person is asleep and when he is in coma

In both coma and sleep, the person is unconscious. However, incase of coma, the person cannot respond to the internal and external stimuli and is in a state of prolonged sleep while the person in sleep can respond to the stimuli and is in a state of temporary sleep. Thus, in coma brain is in state of reduced activity while in sleep the brain is comparatively in more active state.
