what is the effect of temperaure on kinetic energy

The effect of temperature on kinetic energy  is as follows:-
1. With an increase in the temperature, Kinetic Energy of the particles also increases.
2. With decrease in the temperature, the kinetic energy of the particles also decreases.
Thus, we can say that Temperature is directly proportional to kinetic energy of the particles of a substance.

An activity to show that when temperature increases the kinetic energy of particles also increase:-
We take an iron rod at room temperature and  start heating it from one end. As temperature increases, The end becomes hot and the particles in the rod gain kinetic energy, and their movement increases within the rod,  due to which the entire rod becomes hot after a short while.
This proves that as temperature increases, the kinetic energy of particles also increases.
