The IUD with progestogen, intrauterine system (IUS), or IntraUterine Contraceptive (IUC) is a long-acting reversible hormonal contraceptive device that is placed in the uterus. An IUS has a hormone cylinder that releases a progestin (a synthetic progestogen) called levonorgestrel (LNG). The only brand currently available is the T-frame LNG-20 IUS.
