What is the function of alpha cells and beta cells in pancreas

Beta cells make and release insulin. Insulin is a hormone which maintains blood glucose concentration.  and Alpha cells secrete glucagon. Glucagon is a hormone that breaks down glycogen (stored in the liver) into glucose.
