What is the least count in a laboratory thermometer

Dear Student!!

Laboratory thermometer with different least counts are use for different measurement. 

Least count of a measuring instrument is the least value of physical quantity that can be measured accurately using the instrument.

Generally thermometer having least count 1 0C or 0.5 0C are used in the laboratory.

 The minimum reading that can be taken in a thermometer on a degreeC scale is the least count of it.
 For example,the least count of a clinical thermometer is 1/3 or 0.2 degreeC because there are 5 subdivisions of 1 division
