What is the major difference between secularism as practiced in the U.S and in India?

Unlike USA, where there is a strict seperation between religion and the State, Indian secularism is flexible due to its commitment to fulfill the national goals and ideals laid out in the Constitution. The government of India is always under a watch to check if it is working on the true spirits of secularism or not. Therefore, the secular character of India is different from secularism prevailing in America.
