What is the meaning of garbhagriha ?

Dear Student,

A garbhagriha or sannidhanam is the sanctum sanctorum, the deepest asylum of a Hindu and Jain sanctuaries where lives the murti (symbol or symbol) of the essential divinity of the sanctuary. In a real sense the word signifies "belly chamber", from the Sanskrit words garbha for belly and griha for house.
The word garbhagriha signifies "womb chamber". It was drived from the Sanskrit words garbha for belly and griha for house. The deepest piece of a Hindu sanctuary where the symbol of the divinity directs is known as Garbhagriha. It is otherwise called sanctum sanctorum.

The deepest piece of a Hindu sanctuary where the icon of the divinity directs is known as Garbhagriha or sanctum sanctorum. In any Hindu sanctuary, this is the most significant and the most sacrosanct region as it has the actual divinity. All the puja for example contributions like blossoms, organic products and so forth are made inside this region.

Regards.
