 Thank You,

1. Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) is a type of chronic bacterial disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae.  These bacteria usually spread through respiratory droplets from one person to another. The primary symptom of the disease is skin lesions (patches and growths on skin). If not treated on time it may result to permanent damages of nerves skin and limbs. Running nose, eye problem, dry scalp, muscle weakness etc are some other symptoms of this disease. BCG vaccine given in childhood can prevent this disease. Else, medicines are there which cures leprosy completely if detected and medicated early.

2. Measles is an infection of the respiratory system caused by paramyxovirus. It causes total-body skin rash and flu-like symptoms, including a fever, cough, and runny nose, red eyes etc.

3. Anthrax is bacterial disease that affects skin and lungs in both humans and animals (sheep, cattle). It is caused by Bacterium Bacillus anthracis.  It spreads through spores. Many effective vaccines are available for the disease.

4. Jaundice is not a disease, but rather a sign that can occur in many different diseases that affect the liver like hepatitis and liver cancer. The liver usually processes a yellow coloured chemical (bilirubin) as a waste product, but when the liver is damaged, it is unable to do its normal job. The bilirubin then accumulates in the blood and starts to leak out in to nearby tissue. Jaundice is the yellowish staining of the skin and sclera (the white portion of the eye) that is caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood. When the condition gets worse, there occurs loss of appetite, fever, dark urine, dizziness, enlarged spleen, yellow skin, yellow sclera of eyes, tongue gets yellow, etc.
