  1.  It is used by doctors to view abnormalities in the internal human organs such as kidney,gall bladder,uterus,heart etc.For this purpose ultrasonic waves are sent through the patients body,these waves get deflected from the region where abnormalities such as stones,tumor etc. are present.these are recieved by the computer and it generates an image of the organ.this technique is called echosonography.
  2. It is used to view the different develomental stages of the foetus in the womb.
  3. due to it's high frequency,it is used to break stones in gall bladder and kidney into fine grains which get flushed out in urine.
