What is the state of earth's biological system now and why?

Dear student

In many areas of the world, humans have overused the biological systems. This has affected productivity in return. Fisheries have begun to collapse, forests are disappearing, grasslands are being converted into barren wastelands, and croplands are deteriorating. In a protein-conscious and protein hungry world, over-fishing has become common. In poor countries, local forests have been decimated in order to procure firewood for cooking, so much so that firewood has become more expensive than food itself. Due to the decimation of tropical forests, several species of life are facing extinction.
