What is the symbolic/metaphorical meaning of the poem "The Trees" ?

Dear student,
"The Trees" is a short and symbolic poem focusing on the movement of trees that are seeking to escape to freedom in the forest. The trees here seem to represent nature but also the nature of human beings - womanhood in particular.
Also, the branches of the trees are seen like newly discharged patients who are headed for the clinic doors to exit into the world.
The trees are an extended metaphor here for women. The poet says that the women have now rested, healed and recovered and are ready to fulfill their primary purpose that is to renew the empty forest of mankind.
The poet seems to be a women activist and one who wants to show the importance and struggles of a woman just like that of a tree growing in a forest.
