The u.s president Andrew Jackson had great reputation for fighting against injustice .but when it came in turn of the poor native cherokees , he drove them away from their own land and left them in the Great american desert . majority were made to go and they suffered without food , water etc and died. hence their great suffering journey was called as trail of tears.
