What new rules and to routines is introduced in pathshala .What were its consequences

Following new rules and routines were introduced by the British in Indian Patshalas.

1. Government Pundits were hired who were give the charge of four to five schools.They visited the Patshalas and tried to improve the standard of teaching.

2. Each or teacher in the Patshala was instructed to take regular classes according to timetable and submit periodic reports.

3. Teaching became textual and learning was to be analysed by a system of annual examination.

4. Students were instructed to pay a regular fee, attend classes on regular basis, sit on fixed seats and obey the new disciplinarian rules.

5. The Patshalas which accepted the new rules were give Government aid.

Consequences of the changes that were introduced:

1. Patshalas that wanted to retain their old method of teaching failed to match with the patshalas that changed and received Government grants.

2.Peasants' children who preferred to study in the old schools because of its flexible timetable found it difficult to attend the new schools which had fixed timetables and routines.
