What problem do Margot and Anne face with regard to the way their parents treat them...

Dear student,

Margot and Anne faced problems with regards to their parents that are similar to problems faced by most teenagers vis-a-vis their parents. They were on the cusp of adulthood and did not like being treated like children by their parents. Being confined in a small space added to their woes as all their actions were under constant scrutiny. They did not like their parents giving them customary kisses on their foreheads or giving them nicknames. Though they were allowed to read a variety of books, the girls grudged their parents' comments. Anne hinted about her growing spirit of adulthood and independence in her diary that she considered her confidant.

Regards
