What role does man play in the plight of the tiger?

Dear student,

In the poem 'A tiger in the zoo', man is responsible for the sorry plight of the tiger in a zoo. It is man who would have caught and then kept him in the zoo. He is caged in a small enclosure where he is neither free to hunt nor roam around freely. He is just an exhibit for people who visit the zoo. He is definitely unhappy in the confined space and yearns to be out in the open.
