The anti partition movement was known as ‘Vandematram Movement’ in south India. It started in deltaic Andhra Pradesh. The movement started in protest against partition of Bengal region into West Bengal (Indian part) and Bangladesh (a separate country). ‘Vandematram Movement’ was the Swadeshi Movement in northern region.
