Criminal Tribes Act was passed by the colonial government in India in the year 1871. According to this act many pastoralists, craftsmen and traders were stated to be Criminal, because they move from one place to another.The britishers wanted them to settle.

Criminal Tribes Act was passed by colonial government in1871.According to it,
1-many pastoralists were stated criminal.
2-several craftsmen and traders were also under this act.
3-restrictions were imposed on their movement.
4- Now,pastoralists could no longer move between their grazing grounds.
