1. Boundaries were introduced. Prviously there were no boundaries and all shots had to be run.Now, with the introduction of boundries cricketers did not have to run for long.

2. Overarm balling became legal, it gave rise to swing and spin opportunities. Due to which protective equipments came into force.

3. The rule of wide ball was applied and the exact circumference of the ball was specified.
