What were the demand of Sri Lankan Tamil , how they struggle to getting their demands?

The demands of Tamils in Sri Lanka were as per the following: 
(I) Recognition of Tamil as an authority language. 
(ii) More self-sufficiency to territories populated by Tamils. Correspondence of chance in getting training and occupations. 
(iii) Later, they requested development of a free Tamil Elam (state) in Northern and Eastern piece of Sri Lanka.

'Sri Lankan Tamils' started their struggle by lanching their political parties for the; (i) recognition of Tamil as an official language and regional autonomy. (ii) For regional autonomy. (iii) Equality of opportunity in securing education and jobs.

They formed several political organisations, but when the government tried to suppress their activities by force, this led to a Civil War.
