The ministers found that only the king of the state was tall enough to fit the noose and thus, he could be hanged, but the execution of the king would mean that the state would have no king after his death. After the king was hanged, the ministers were confused about who would be the next to sit at the thrown. To find a solution to this problem they said that whoever would pass the gate next, would choose the king for the state. Finally, when an idiot passed the gate and he named a pumpkin to be crowned as the king, the ministers thought for a while but later accepted the verdict and crowned a melon as the king.
