What will happen if there is excess of oxygen ?

Dear Student, If there will be more oxygen in the atmosphere, as oxygen is essential for burning everything will catch fire more easily. In case of human beings, if more oxygen, higher than the normal value is present in the body it will cause oxygen toxicity or hyperoxia (which will damage lipids, proteins and nucleic acids), and resulting in reaction with biological tissues.
