when only ps1 ia acitve whg the process is called cyclic.. dnt the splitting of water takes place in this process and then how is energy releases if the electron keeps on revolving along the same chain?? ( no links pls)

Dear student,
Light of wavelength 700 nm excites PSI cyclic photophosphorylation. The excited electron returns back to fill the electron deficiency of PSI. There is no need of splitting of water in PSI because splitting of water molecule generates electrons and protons which fills the oxidised PSII electron deficiency. When the electron is excited in PSI, it is accepted by electron acceptor molecule which is present at higher reduction potential, so when this electron moves downhill then energy is generated.
