To check weather a figure is a linear pair or not you must see that it is making an angle of 180degree or not .

If the figure shows two adjacent angles whose sum is 180°, then it is a linear pair.
But if you mean how to find the angle measures, then maybe one of the angles is given or there might be some other information. Otherwise, just divide 180 by 2 and you get 90°.
