which course of study does taplow prepared and why ?

Taplow was interested in pursuing science because he could not stomach the method in which classical literature was taught to the students. It seemed to him to be far more exciting and worthy of pursuit rather than the classics like Aeschylus' Agamemnon. The text according to Taplow was only full of Greek words and invited punishment if any of them were written wrongly, even the saving grace of an interesting plot was not enough to make him take it up.
