WHICH IS THE FIRST CIVILIZATION OF INDIA? WHY IS IT CALLED SO?

Dear student,

The earliest major civilization in India was the Indus Valley Civilization (c. 3300 to 1300 BCE), spread over northwestern areas of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. It was called so since it flourished along the basins of the River Indus.
The other name of the same is Harappan civilization, named after the site called Harappa that was the first one to be excavated here.
