which is the gas formed when the substance react in the bottle

Dear student.
Sea shells are made of calcium carbonate. So when calcium carbonate reacts with hydrochloric acid, carbon dioxide gas is formed.
The reaction is shown below -
CaCO₃ +2HCl $\to$CaCl₂ +CO₂ + H₂O.
