Copper releasing IUDs like TCu 380A, Copper T, Multiload 375 etc release Cu ions which acts as a spermicide as it increases the  levels of prostaglandins and white blood cells within the uterine and tubal fluids , thus causing the phagocytosis of any foreign cell including sperms.
