Which part of India receive high rainfall and why?

NORTH EASTERN PART OF INDIA GETS HEAVY RAINFALL BECAUSE

THE HILLS THAT IS THE THREE HILLS [MIZO,NAGA etc..] are FUNNEL SHAPED HILLS AND WHEN MONSOON WINDS ENTER IT CANNOT ESCAPE EASILY AND THAT'S WHY IT RECIEVES HEAVY RAINFALL

Mawsynram recieves the highest rainfall in the world which is 1024 mm average rainfall yearly. This region recieves the highest rainfall due to the location of the hills present there. The shape of these hills are such that  the monsoon winds from the bay of bengal branch get trapped there and pour the total rain there only.
