Which substances have equal density ? What will happen if one solid is put in a liquid with the same density as it has ?

Dear student
Please find the solution to the asked query:

When two substances have different shape and size , but they are made up of the same material, they are said to have same density. When a solid is put in a liquid, and the density is same for both, there will be two forces which will act on the solid,
i)the weight of the solid.
ii)The upthrust provided by the liquid.
The weight of the solid is proportional to the density of the solid and the upthrust provided by the liquid is proportional to the density of the liquid.
Thus if the densities are same, then there will be no net force acting on the body and the solid will remain as it is.
If the solid is just placed into the liquid, it will remain at the surface of the liquid.
