Patrick saved the elf on the condition that he will do his homework. Yet on one pretext or the other, the elf made Patrick do all the work. The elf often complained that he did not understand the meaning of a particular word and was poor in arithmetic. He also had no idea about human history. So, due to his inability, Patrick had to help him out. In the end, Patrick ended up doing most of the work. So truly speaking, it was Patrick who did the homework.
