In all the successes of the emperor Chandragupta Maurya, the impact of the advice and guidance of Chanakya to him from the very beginning has to be accepted. In fact, Chanakya or Kautilya (real name being Vishnugupta) was the chief guide and advisor of Chandragupta Maurya. He was his minister. In fact, a story goes that even Chanakya was once insulted by the Nanda rulers. So he joined hands with Chandragupta Maurya and helped him in overthrowing the Nanda dynasty and establishing the Mauryan rule.

Chanakya wrote his book called Arthashastra. In it, he discusses the principles of the politics and the art of government. This book also tells us about the life, society and administration under the Mauryan rulers.

Hope you get the answer.

Cheers!!
