• Raja Ram Mohun Roy-He raised voice against an evil practice of sati and eradicated this practice.
• Pandita Ramabai-She was the torchbearer of the age who rebelled against discriminatory customs and fought for women's educational rights.She fought for the cause of women's education and opened Mukti mission in Khedgaon near Pune in 1898..
• Rokeya Sakhawat-She wrote about innovations by women like flying air cars,controlling rain,etc.in an age when girls could not attend school .She also started the Sakhawat Memorial girls high school at Bhagalpur which was later shifted to Kolkata.
