Lakshmi lakhra is a 27-year-old female who belongs to a poor tribal family in Jharkhand. She is the first woman engine driver for Northern Railways. Lakshmi’s parents are illiterate but they struggled hard to make sure that their children got an education. Lakshmi studied in a government school. She studied hard and went on to get a diploma in electronics. She took the railway board exam and passed it on her first attempt to become an engine driver. She has become a source of inspiration for other poor girls also.
