whts the correct defination of verticies , edges&faces.......... please

A solid may be made up of polygonal regions (surfaces) called its faces. These faces may be curved surface or flat surface.

 

In this solid one flat surface and another flat or curved face meet at a straight line segment or a curved line segment which are called edges. Thus, the edges of a solid may curved edge (s) or straight edge (s).  The straight edges meet at the point which is called vertex.

 

In the following shape;

(i)  There are 5 faces. They are triangles ABF, CDE and quadrilaterals ABCD, CBFE and ADEF

(ii)  9 edges. They are AB, BF, AF, CD, CE, DE, AD, BC and EF

(iii) 6 vertices. They are A, B, C, D, E and F.
