Why bombal get more rainfall then puna

Bombay receives more rainfall than Pune because

• Bombay  is located on the coast and Pune is a little in the interior.
• Bombay   lies on the windward side of Western Ghats while Pune is located on the leeward side.
• When the monsoon winds are on the windward side they have enough moisture in them and as they rise the Western Ghats, they expand and cool and cause heavy rainfall.
• But when the winds descend on the leeward side, they are dry and compressed and hence does not cause more rainfall.
