WHY BRYOPHYTES CALLED AMPHIBIANS OF PLANT KINGDOM Explain it

Bryophytes are called amphibians of the plant kingdom, because they live on land but need water for sexual reproduction. Sperm produced by bryophyte i.e. antherozoids are flagellated and require water to swim and reach egg for fertilization. hence bryophytes are called amphibians of plant kingdom.
