Why did Ashoka attacked Kalinga ?

ASOKA WANTED TO CONQUER THE KALINGA REGION ( COASTAL ORISSA IN PRESNT-DAY ),Ashoka attacked Kalinga because it was his fathers (Bindusara's) dream to conquer Kalinga. Also Ashokas empire had conquered all ports in India except the one in Kalinga so Ashoka wanted to conquer that port too.



ASHOKA ATTACKED KALING BECAUSE IT WAS HIS FATHER'S (BINDUSARA'S) DREAM TO CONQUER KALINGA . ALSO ASHOKA'S EMPIRE HAD CONQUERED ALL PORTS IN INDIA EXCEPT KALINGA SO, ASHOKA WANTED TO CONQUER KALINGA TOO
