why did Handloom weaving in India not die out when cheap British machine made cloth flooded the Indian market

Dear student,

Hand loom weaving in India not die out when cheap British machine made cloth flooded the Indian market because of the following reasons :
1) The machines were not able to produce cloth with intricate borders and traditional woven patterns.
2) The machines in Britain were also not able to produce coarse cloths used by the poor sections of society in the country.
