why did hyder ali the ruler of mysore have conflicts with the british

Dear Student
Please find below the solution to your query
1.   The British could not control and suppress the rulers of Mysore Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan
2.  Hyder Ali controlled the profitable trade in Malabar coast where the British purchased spices like pepper, cardamom.
3.  The export of sandalwood, pepper and cardamom was stopped by Tipu Sultan in 1785 and he disallowed local merchants from trading with the British
4.  Hence, the British decided to confront these rulers with military support as they were constant threat to their political and economic interests.
