Why did snake did not strike the doctor ?

Dear Student,
The snake did not bite the doctor because it saw its reflection in the mirror and was fascinated by it. So it left the doctor and went  to have a closer look at its own reflection.

Doctor was not making any movement at that time and behave as a statue . The snake then observed himself in the mirror and start admiring his beauty meanwhile The Doctor quietly stood up and ran to his friends house. This could be the reason that snake did not strike the Doctor
