In the time of war, the narrator could stay with her mother for very short period of time.Her mother only visited her for few days. After war, when everything was gradually falling in place, narrator found a chance to visit her mother's place. She remembered the address of that place her mother once told her. She knew that her mother was always worried of leaving that place and her valuable things during the war. She wanted visit the place to see, touch and feel the possessions of her mother. At first she was disappointed as Mrs Dorling didn't recognise her. But she knew that she was at the right place and was eager to see her mother's possessions. So she took another attempt to visit that place again.
