Why do polar bears close their nostrils when they are underwater???

The polar bears close their nostrils while swimming under water. This helps them stay under water for a longer period of time.

this is an adaptation of polar bears which helps them to stay in water for a long period of time.

they do that so that water doesnt enter their nose and then lungs

by which they might drown

they do that because closing of nostrils prvents the internal body heat to be released and they fall cold.
